2 vehicles catch fire in fatal Goldenrod Road crash, officials say
At least one person was killed in a fiery crash Friday afternoon on South Goldenrod Road near Curry Ford Road, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.
Firefighters arrived at the scene a little after 3 p.m. after a pickup truck and a passenger car crashed on the 2000 block of South Goldenrod Road, which ignited both vehicles, fire rescue spokesman Mike Jachles said.
One person in the passenger car, who’s not been identified while Florida Highway Patrol investigates the scene, was killed in the crash. It’s unclear whether there were any other victims due to the extent of the damage, Jachles said.
Three men were inside the pickup truck and were able to escape. One passenger was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center after complaining about chest pains, Jachles said.
