Florida man tased twice after cursing, head-butting, spitting at, kicking deputies at beachfront resort: report
A Florida man cursed at, head-butted, spat on, and threatened to sue a deputy and vowed the officer would be on the news during a melee at a Florida Keys hotel on Sunday, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said.
Yanser Robaina, 40, of Homestead was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, causing property damage, resisting arrest with violence and resisting arrest without violence.
Robaina also kicked the door of a patrol car, causing about $1,000 in damage; he was put in leg restraints and was tased before kicking another deputy and was tased again, the sheriff’s office said.
The incidents happened at Gilbert’s Resort in Key Largo, a waterfront hotel.
Deputies said Robaina was “swimming in a clearly marked no swim zone” and became hostile when an officer ordered him to get out of the water.
Another man Freddy Ruiz, 43, of Miami was charged with cocaine possession after security said they saw him drop a small plastic bag on the beach as he walked toward deputies.
