Florida woman steals ambulance, crashes into police car after chase: report

A Florida woman was arrested after police say she stole an ambulance and crashed it into a police car after a short chase, according to a report on TCPalm.com.

According to the report, Amber Lynn Sills, 29, of Fort Pierce is accused of stealing a St. Lucie County Fire District ambulance on Wednesday, leading Fort Pierce police on a chase and crashing the ambulance into a police cruiser.

The chase lasted three minutes after the stolen ambulance was spotted on U.S. Highway 1, according to TCPalm. No one was injured in the crash.

Sills was charged with grand theft of a vehicle, fleeing and eluding police with injury or damage and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill as well engaging in prostitution, according to St. Lucie County jail records.

She remains in custody with bond set at $37,505.
