HERE IS HOW YOU COULD BE SAVING THE EVERGLADES

Governor Ron DeSantis has opened up registration for this year’s Florida Python Challenge, beginning on Aug. 5 to Aug. 14.

The challenge will help protect the Everglades and all of the animals that live in its ecosystem.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the South Florida Water Management District, Burmese pythons currently reside in the Everglades and pose a threat to other animals in the area.

Here is how the challenge works:

· Whoever captures the most pythons will receive the $2,500 grand prize

· Whoever captures the longest python will receive the $1,500 grand prize

Once you capture the python, participates must return the deceased snake to an official drop off station.
