Man accused of several Saint Cloud package thefts arrested, Osceola deputies say

A man who the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said was responsible for at least three package thefts in Saint Cloud was arrested Friday.

Doorbell camera footage and two days of surveillance allowed deputies to track down Elin Salas, who confessed to stealing packages in a Narcoossee Road neighborhood, the sheriff’s office said in a statement Friday.

Salas, 38, was arrested on three counts of burglary and petit theft and is being held in the Osceola County Jail on an $18,000 bond.

Authorities said they found the gray Nissan Altima Salas used in the July 2 thefts at an apartment complex in Orlando, where deputies waited until Salas got into the car and drove away.

The sheriff’s office is encouraging anyone with information about the thefts to call 407-348-2222 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
