Orlando man sentenced to 10 years after robbing 4 Central Florida banks

An Orlando man was sentenced 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to four counts of bank robbery, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Middle District of Florida.

Robert Ray, 47, robbed two Central Florida banks and attempted to rob a third in December, the office said.

Ray robbed a fourth bank on Dec. 20 in Live Oak, Florida where he stole $2,650, according to WTXL, an ABC affiliated news station, serving Georgia.

Ray’s December crime spree added him a total of $7,200, the office indicated.

His tactic remained consistent in all four instances where he would patiently wait in line for a bank teller, approach a window and demand “all of the $100s and $50s” available.

Ray was arrested Dec. 21 in Dawson Georgia, where he was extradited back to Seminole County, where he robbed the first bank, WTXL reported.
