Orlando police searching for car possibly used in fatal shooting at 7-Eleven
Police released a photo of a car they believe was used to leave the scene of a Sunday night shooting at a 7-Eleven near Universal Studios that left one man dead.
The car — a red Hyundai Veloster with a Florida license plate — was driven by a 20- to 30-year-old man, Orlando police Sgt. Eduardo Bernal said in an emailed statement Tuesday.
Authorities are investigating the killing of 24-year-old Thiago Neves, who was shot at the 7-Eleven near South Kirkman and Vineland roads on Sunday. A woman who said she was his girlfriend told WKMG-Channel 6 that she and Neves were entering the store after leaving a family barbecue when he was shot in the head.
He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police have called the shooting “an isolated incident” and have not released further details on the circumstances of the shooting.
The alleged getaway car was last seen traveling west on Vineland Road at 10:33 p.m., police said.
Anyone with information on the crime is encouraged to call 800-423-8477.
